Bis strengthens Board with appointment of Emma Stein as Non-Executive Director

Leading mining services company Bis has announced today the appointment of Non-Executive Director Emma Stein to its Board of Directors.

Ms Stein brings significant skills and experience from roles in resources, energy and utilities and engineering and industrial services companies.

Ms Stein is currently serving as Non-Executive Director of ASX50 company Alumina Limited. Ms Stein’s other non-executive roles include Cleanaway Waste Management Limited, Infigen Energy Limited and Todd Corporation. Ms Stein’s executive career involved senior roles in prominent oil and gas companies in the United Kingdom, including roles as UK Managing Director for British Fuels’ Gas Division and UK Managing Director for Gaz de France Energy.

Commenting on the appointment, Bis’ Chairman Graeme Hunt said “We are delighted that Emma is joining our Board. Emma is a highly regarded company director in Australia with over ten years of experience and good exposure to industries relevant to Bis.  Emma has a skill set that will be a valuable addition to our Board.”

“Emma joins Bis at an exciting time, following the recent acquisition of leading underground mining services company UGM and the successful launch last month of our innovative haulage truck Rexx.  We’re pleased that Emma has agreed to join our Board as we pursue further growth.”

“Bis is a great company, with a real focus on delivering sustainable customer value through innovative solutions. I look forward to working closely with my fellow board members and CEO Brad Rogers as we look to grow the business from its very solid foundations,” Ms Stein said.

Steve Simpson, who was appointed to the Board on a temporary basis while the recruitment process for a Non-Executive Director was conducted, is stepping down from his board role and will remain as Bis’ Chief Financial Officer.
