Push Up Challenge

Bis Teams Up for Mental Health in The Push-Up Challenge

This June, a group of Bis employees took on The Push-Up Challenge, Australia's largest mental health and fitness event, and we couldn’t be prouder of their effort, energy and commitment.

Over 23 days, our team members completed 3,214 push-ups. That number isn’t random. It represents the 3,214 lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2023, based on the most recent data available. Every push-up was a tribute, a reminder and a call to action.

The Push-Up Challenge is not just about fitness. It is about raising awareness for mental health, breaking the stigma, and starting conversations that can truly make a difference. And with June being Men’s Health Month, the timing was especially important.

Why It Matters

Mental health affects everyone, whether it is something we face personally, through our mates, our families or the people we work alongside every day. The challenge gave us a reason to check in with each other, share stories and connect in ways that matter.

Throughout the 23 days, participants received daily mental health facts and stats designed to educate and spark meaningful conversations. It was not just about counting reps. It was about making each one count.

The Bis Spirit in Action

Whether smashing the full target or doing what they could, every person who took part showed what we are all about at Bis. Supporting each other, stepping up when it counts, and making space for real conversations.

Some squeezed in sets during smoko, others rallied teammates for lunchtime push-up breaks, and plenty of high-fives were shared along the way. The energy was infectious, the effort was inspiring, and the message was clear. Mental health matters, and we are in this together.

What’s Next?

We are proud of our legends who took part, but the message does not stop here. The Push-Up Challenge may be over for 2025, but mental health is something we need to keep talking about all year round.

So, let’s keep checking in. Let’s keep asking our mates how they are doing. Let’s keep showing up, on site, in the office, at home, and wherever our people are.

Because when it comes to mental health, every conversation, every check-in, and every push-up counts.

We’re pushing for better mental health together.
