Partnering for Workforce Development

As part of our commitment to training and workforce development across both Bis and Jaxam, we’ve partnered with Major Training Group – a registered training organisation (RTO) known for delivering flexible, high-quality training.

This partnership will have a strong focus on supporting our underground operations, particularly through the development and delivery of structured, competency-based training frameworks for frontline employees at all sites.

Today, we were pleased to welcome Ashleigh Purnell – Field Officer, and Robert Milligan – Trainer and Assessor from Major Training Group. Their site visits offered a chance to see firsthand how their hands-on, flexible delivery model aligns with our operational needs.

At Jaxam, Regan Waldon – Mechanical Fitter/Leading Hand, took them through the workshop, while at Bis, Franco Cesta – Workshop Manager, hosted the visit and shared insights into our training priorities.

Major Training will work closely with our recently appointed Training Manager, Kerrina Christiansen, and Training Coordinator, Ashlee Todd, to deliver programs that build capability and support career progression.

We’re excited to work together to develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople across Bis and Jaxam.
