Welcome to Bis | Kerrina Christiansen

Welcoming Kerrina Christiansen.

We’re pleased to welcome Kerrina Christiansen to Bis, who joins us as Training Manager in the Maintenance Execution leadership team, based at Tomago.

Kerrina brings a wealth of operational leadership and training expertise, honed through many years in the construction materials testing and civil construction industries. Her work has supported major infrastructure projects including the Woolgoolga to Ballina Bypass, Canberra Light Rail, and the Hunter Expressway, where she led her teams to deliver high-quality outcomes on time while maintaining strong safety and compliance. Kerrina achieved this by identifying skill gaps, implementing targeted training, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Her leadership not only enhanced team performance but also improved staff morale and retention in the demanding environments of major construction projects.

With a strong focus on aligning training to operational needs, Kerrina’s approach goes beyond compliance. Passionate about creating training frameworks that genuinely uplift workforce capability, she understands the pressures frontline teams face and tailors learning programs that are practical, accessible, and built to support success on the ground.

In her new role, Kerrina will work closely with teams across our sites to develop and deliver competency-based training that helps people perform safely, confidently and consistently. Her appointment is a key part of our broader focus on building workforce capability and supporting our people to thrive.

“I like to lead from the ground up. Being present with the team, listening, and understanding the challenges they face every day. That’s how you build trust and real outcomes,” Kerrina says.

Kerrina is driven by a people-first leadership style. She enjoys mentoring others, creating inclusive environments, and helping individuals unlock their full potential in the workplace. It’s this hands-on, human approach that makes her such a strong cultural fit for Bis – and why we’re excited to have her on board.

Outside of work, Kerrina lives in the heart of Newcastle with her family. She loves the coastal lifestyle and stays active through sport, swimming and time at the beach.

Please join us in welcoming Kerrina to Bis, we’re thrilled to have her on the team.
