For the first time in the history of our business, Bis has achieved a full financial year without a Lost Time Injury (LTI).
The achievement means that none of our Bis team members or valued contracting partners throughout Australia and Indonesia sustained a workplace injury or illness that prevented them from returning to work the next day.
Bis Chief Executive Officer, Brad Rogers, said: “Considering what we do and where we do it, this is a significant accomplishment and one we should all be very proud of.”
“Zero Harm isn’t just a couple of words on a page. It is recognition that Health and Safety must come first in everything that we do. In all aspects of our business we strive to do better, and it’s this philosophy of continuous improvement that inspired a renewed focus on initiatives and behaviours that have culminated in this proud achievement.”
Bis also marked improvement in its lagging indicators of safety performance. Over the same period, and from an already strong base of performance, Bis’ Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate (TRIFR) reduced by a third, while the incidence of property damage halved.
